Women's Soccer's Season Comes To An End
Great Lakes Christian College battled hard but fell 3–0 to Southwestern Adventist University on Friday at the Austin-Tindall Sports Complex in Kissimmee, Florida. The Crusaders held SWAU scoreless through a gritty first half, anchored by goalkeeper Loralai Logan, who finished with five saves while facing 22 total shots. Coming out of halftime, GLCC continued to defend with urgency, but Southwestern finally broke through with a goal in the 48th minute. A penalty kick in the 56th minute and another goal in the 70th extended the deficit despite the Crusaders’ persistent effort. Offensively, GLCC generated five shots, including three on goal from Caitlyn McKenzie and Jade Murdoch, but couldn’t find the back of the net against SWAU. The match grew more challenging after a 67th-minute red card left the Crusaders down a player for the remainder of the half. Still, Great Lakes continued to compete to the final whistle, showing resilience against one of the strongest opponents on their schedule.
Head Coach Matheus Morozowski had this to say:
"As the 2025 chapter closes, we’re filled with gratitude. Thank you to every player who poured out their heart, every parent who sacrificed and supported, and every fan who showed up, cheered, and prayed over this team all season long. We fell short of the ultimate goal, but this group accomplished so much and created memories that will stay with us forever. Now the work continues. We will reflect with humility, learn from our mistakes, and lock into winter and spring training with a new level of hunger and focus.
Our standard remains the same: compete hard, compete with heart, and never forget the foundation of this program is Christ.
We will be back. Better every day. Chasing a National Championship in 2026."
