BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer continued its winning streak on Friday, defeating Andrews University in their second meeting of the season, 3-0.
Great Lakes dominated the possession throughout the game, but only led 1-0 at halftime off an 18th-minute own goal. In the second half, GLCC scored a goal for themselves in the 54th minute as Solara Sheldon made it 2-0 before Morgan Chamberlain provided additional insurance off an assist from Sheldon in the 73rd.
Great Lakes took 47 shots to Andrews' three. 24 of those shots were on target and an incredible 22 were saved by Andrews goalkeeper Emily Hicks. Katarzyna Polek and Malia Fry both made one save for Great Lakes and split the clean sheet.
The team will return home for a rare Sunday match against Mount Mary at noon at Henderson Field.
