LINCOLN, Ill. - Great Lakes Christian College women's soccer grabbed a pair of road wins this weekend, defeating Lincoln Christian 4-1 and Lincoln College 1-0.
On Friday, the team faced Lincoln Christian. April Gillespie and Hailey Conine scored first-half goals to put the visitors ahead 2-0 at halftime.
Conine scored another in the 51st to increase Great Lakes' lead. Lexi McClue scored to draw one back for the hosts, but Gillespie responded with an insurance goal in the 85th to put away the win for good.
Great Lakes took 25 shots (14 on target). LCU took six, three of which were saved by Katarzyna Polek.
On Saturday, the team stayed in Illinois to take on Lincoln College, defeating them 1-0 to extend their streak to four games with a result, including three wins.
Great Lakes will host Grace Christian on Wednesday at 4:00 in Lansing, Mich.
