David Smith Joins coaching Staff

Lansing, Michigan.- The Crusader basketball program has a new addition to the coaching staff as David Smith will be a Recruiting Coordinator for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.

 

Before he arrived at GLCC, Smith served in the same role the past two years at The University of Olivet.  His experience includes recruiting coordinator at Schoolcraft College, assistant women's basketball coach at Rochester Christian University. “We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Coach Smith as the newest member of our Great Lakes family. With a proven track record of success spanning numerous years, Dave embodies a remarkable blend of expertise, passion, and energy, qualities that have consistently propelled him to greatness. Above all, his outstanding character shines through, making him an invaluable addition to our team. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will undoubtedly bring and am so grateful for Coach Kimball connecting him to our program.” Said Head Coach Katy Shannon.

 

On his new role at GLCC David said “Ray, Katy and McKenzie are developing a winning culture built on Christian values. The opportunity to join this staff is a blessing. My role with Women’s Basketball is to create pathways to students who are ready to experience Great Lakes Christian College athletics.”

 

David will begin his role with the Crusaders immediately.
