Women's Basketball Bested By Wilberforce
Women's Basketball battled hard on the road Saturday but fell 103–69 to Wilberforce at Gaston F. Lewis Arena. Crusaders struggled to slow Wilberforce’s explosive second quarter, where the hosts poured in 31 points to build a commanding halftime advantage. Marin Abe led the Crusaders with 16 points and six rebounds, while Dalys McGuinnis added 14 points and eight boards in a determined interior effort. Makenzie Mondy and O’licia Porritt each chipped in 11 points, with Porritt knocking down three shots from beyond the arc to spark the perimeter attack. Despite forcing 10 Wilberforce turnovers and converting 22 free throws, GLCC shot 30.8 percent from the field and couldn’t keep pace with the hosts’ 46.3 percent efficiency. The Crusaders will look to regroup and tighten their defense as they prepare for the next stretch of the season.
