LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball ended a 21-month stretch without a home win on Saturday, knocking off Miami Hamilton 56-47 at the Doty Center.
Great Lakes stifled MUH's offense in the first half, holding them to 18 points in the first 20 minutes and building a double-digit lead.
With eight and a half minutes left in the fourth quarter, GLCC led 45-30, but a 13-0 run by the visitors cut the lead to two with 4:01 remaining. The teams traded points, Great Lakes narrowing holding its lead until a critical bucket by Careya Pace pushed the lead back up to four. Pace then made three of four free throws down the stretch to put the game away.
Mystic Striker led GLCC with 17 points on 6-of-21 shooting (28.5%) and 12 rebounds. Sakura Nakano piloted the offense with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists. As a team, Great Lakes committed 26 turnovers.
Leah Abribat led Miami Hamilton with 16 points and Lacey Reinhart scored 12.
