LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College women's basketball dropped to 0-2 on Tuesday with a 67-37 loss to Ohio Christian.
The teams were tied at nine in the first quarter, but an 11-0 run by OCU gave them the lead for good. GLCC struggled offensively throughout the game, trailing 35-24 at halftime and scoring only two points in the third quarter as the visitors rolled to a 30-point win.
GLCC shot a mere 21.7% (15/69) in the game and were out-rebounded 60-46. Ohio Christian made 25 of 72 shots (34.7%).
Sakura Nakano led Great Lakes with 17 points and Lailah Dixon grabbed 11 rebounds. Taylor Norris led all scorers with 18 off the bench for OCU and Rachel Gillum's 17 points and 15 rebounds gave her a double-double.
GLCC will take on Welch College on Friday at Grace Christian University in Wyoming, Mich. to kick off a five-game road stretch.
