2025 Men's Soccer Season Comes To A Close
2025–26 Great Lakes Christian College Men’s Soccer Season Review
The Great Lakes Christian College men’s soccer team wrapped up the 2025–26 campaign with a 5–10–3 overall record, showing moments of promise despite a challenging schedule. The team was particularly strong at home, finishing 3–2–1 at Henderson Field, while struggling to find consistency on the road.
The season opened strong, highlighted by a victory over top 10 ranked Spurgeon, a draw against NCAA DIII Manchester Univeristy, and achieving an early season ranking at #10 in the National Coaches Poll. The midseason proved a difficult patch for the crusaders. Perfroming well in the first half against quality opposition, the second half was often an area which needed improvement. Despite the difficulties found in the middle of the season, Men's Soccer found the spark it needed towards the end of the season. After some tactitcal shifts, the Crusaders were able to pull off a draw and a 1-0 win over NCCAA DI Ohio Christian. This solid stretch also saw a major program achievment in beating the #1 ranked team in Alice Lloyd 2-1 at home. Riding high off this achievment, the Crusaders fought hard to a narrow 1-0 loss to Midwest runners up, Maranatha Baptist.
Though the Crusaders finished under their ultimate goal, their competitive spirit, strong home performances, and flashes of offensive and defensive growth provide a solid foundation heading into next season.
