WATERTOWN, Wisc. - Great Lakes Christian College men's soccer earned a tough road point on Saturday against NCCAA foe Maranatha Baptist University.
Despite dominating play in the first half, it wasn't until the 45th minute that the hosts grabbed the lead off a Zeke Steuerwald goal, which put them ahead 1-0 at halftime.
Great Lakes hung around, though, and their patience was rewarded with a Zach Johnson equalizer in the 63rd.
For the next hour, Maranatha continued to apply the pressure, but GLCC continued to hold them out through full time and both extra time periods to pull off a miracle 1-1 draw.
Maranatha took 32 shots, 10 of which were saved by GLCC goalkeeper Alexzander Walker. Great Lakes out had three shots, all of which were on target. MBU took 15 corners to GLCC's zero.
Great Lakes will close its regular season at home on Friday against Faith Baptist Bible at 3:00 p.m.
