LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College (1-9, 0-3) did not meet expectations in their home clash with regional foe Appalachian Bible College (2-4-1, 1-2) on Saturday, falling 8-2.
The home team came out incredibly flat, giving up four goals, all scored by ABC's Jordan Steiner, in the first eight minutes.
After a penalty made the score 5-0, Great Lakes finally responded as Bonny Kibuuka scored his first goal of the season to make the score 5-1 at halftime.
Kibuuka scored again in the 50th minute to put Great Lakes within three, but the a penalty for Appalachian Bible put the Warriors up 6-2 in the 52nd. ABC added two more in the final half-hour to make the final score 8-2.
Appalachian Bible outshot GLCC 24-14 and put 12 shots on goal to Great Lakes' six.
Up Next: Great Lakes will be at home again on Tuesday, taking on Andrews University at 4:00 p.m. at Henderson Field.
