LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College men's soccer (0-4, 0-1) failed to find the back of the net in a 9-0 home loss to USCAA St. Mary-of-the-Woods (4-0) on Tuesday.
The Pomeroys dominated play in the first half, letting the home team take only a single shot while racking up a 5-0 lead.
The second half was more of the same, SMWC holding most of the possession and giving Great Lakes little chance to do anything with the ball and no shots. Great Lakes did, however, end the game on a run of 27 minutes without conceding, losing 9-0.
Despite the result, head coach Ian Kurth saw a lot of positives in his side's performance. "We're definitely starting to be more organized defensively," he said. "Guys are starting to understand their roles within different positions... Definitely still some mistakes today... and you can see those today in some of the goals that we conceded. But, definitely in terms of the performance today, we still have room for improvement but there were a lot of very good things we can build on."
