Crusaders Basketball Sweeps Grace In Double Header
Crusaders Basketball delivered an impressive afternoon of basketball at the Doty Center, earning dominant victories in both the women’s and men’s matchups against Grace Christian University. The women opened the day with an 80–42 win, fueled by a balanced offensive attack and relentless defensive pressure. Dalys McGuinnis led all scorers with 21 points, while Olivia McDavid added 17 points and stuffed the stat sheet with five steals and three blocks. Women's Basketball forced 31 turnovers and knocked down 12 threes, showcasing one of their most complete performances of the season. On the men’s side, the Crusaders continued the momentum with a 91–63 victory in their season opener. Trae Ruggles paced the offense with 18 points and four made threes, while Devin Watts and LaTa’Vius Vaughter provided steady scoring inside and out. The men’s team displayed exceptional ball movement, recording 27 assists on 34 made field goals. Men's Basketball also received major contributions from its bench, with DeMarkco Coakley and Shawn Goodman helping stretch the lead. Defensively, the Crusaders limited Grace to 36% shooting while controlling the glass and the pace of play. It was a statement day for both GLCC programs, as each team showcased growth, depth, and energy in front of the home crowd.
