LANSING, Mich. - Great Lakes Christian College JV men's basketball picked up its third consecutive single-digit loss on Wednesday, losing to Spring Arbor 73-70 at home.
Spring Arbor opened up a 12-point lead early, but GLCC trimmed it to three before a late SAU three made it 39-33 at the half.
Spring Arbor opened the second half on a run, building their lead back up to 13. Great Lakes once again brought the lead within striking distance, but were unable to get a bucket on their final possession and lost by three.
Caleb Applegate led Spring Arbor with 23 points. Ayden Rutan had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. SAU shot 9/19 from three (47.4%) and 30/61 from the floor (49.2%) while committing only nine turnovers.
Dawson Grizzle led Great Lakes with nine rebounds and 18 points on 9/9 shooting. The team shot 30/64 overall (46.9%) but only 7/23 (30.4%) from deep.
The team will face Bethel (Ind.) at home on Monday in the first leg of a home-and-away.
