Men's Basketball comes back against Boyce to sweep Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Great Lakes Christian College men's basketball came from behind once again to win their third game at the Robert E. Picirilli Classic, beating host Boyce College 84-80 on Saturday.
Great Lakes took a small lead early but Boyce's offense responded, going on a 19-9 run and taking a 50-42 lead into halftime.
Boyce pushed its lead to 10 early in the second, but a 17-6 GLCC run gave them the lead once again. Boyce briefly jumped back in front, but Great Lakes quickly regained an advantage they would not relinquish.
GLCC never led by more than five down the stretch, but Boyce never got closer than two and Great Lakes held on to go three-for-three at the Classic and move to 6-0 in regional play.
Kylan Shipp led GLCC with 19 points. Trent Temple scored 17 and Jaivon Felton led the way on the boards with nine rebounds.
Boyce's Bailey Benham's 22 points led all scorers and Brody Mediera scored 21 while blocking three shots. Kevin Kirby registered a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Great Lakes will end their current road stretch at Lincoln Christian on Saturday.
