LOUISVILLE - Great Lakes Christian College men's basketball moved to 3-0 in regional play on Saturday, knocking off Simmons College of Kentucky, 91-67.
Great Lakes opened up a first-half lead, going up 46-36 at halftime. In the second half, they continued to pull away, out-scoring Simmons 45-31 to win comfortably.
Trent Temple led Great Lakes' 13 scorers with 17 points. Kylan Shipp scored 16 and Isiah Reed tallied 15. Jaivon Felton led GLCC with 10 rebounds.
Glenn Queen led Simmons with 24 points off the bench. Don'Quel Williams scored 14.
Head coach Rich Westerlund said that he was "really proud of our guys today." He said they "moved the ball really extremely well, evidence by our 27 assists."
He went on to say that his team is "very tough to beat when we're sharing the basketball" and "it's always good to get the first true road win of the year."
Great Lakes will be on the road at Andrews University on Tuesday at 7:30.
